When you think of success what immediately comes to mind? Is it money, riches, great prosperity? If yes, you are in the ninety five percentile of individuals who believe this, but who may not have experienced your fully desired success. If your response is no, you are in the five percent who may be genuinely successful in life overall. Success, as defined by Earl Nightingale, is “a progressive realization of a worthy ideal”. Using that definition, success can be geared toward any endeavor. It may be to achieve great wealth or riches but it can also be the success of receiving a higher educational degree; better health; living your passion; finding something lost; taking a trip; establishing a deeper love relationship; connecting with the real you; etc. Success, therefore, is a series of many successful ideals in several areas of life.
INNOVATIVE THINKING FOR THE 20TH CENTURY
In the 20th century there were a few progressive “guru’s” motivating and inspiring the world by discussing the power of the mind. These were the beginning stages of humanity’s understanding on how the mind could be used to bring about success. Napoleon Hill, author of “Think and Grow Rich”, coined the phrase “what the mind can conceive and believe it can achieve”. It was the mantra for all ages, adopted by anyone who became a serious student of successful living. The information was fresh and it opened the gate of extended possibilities for anyone who was interested in improving their life.
What came to light was, man uses only ten percent of his brain and by using more of it – ALL things are possible! The impossible can become reality rather than a pipedream that might never happen. In essence it means, when using the mind to think on a directed path you can achieve success. What your mind thinks about most becomes an actuality. Therefore, if you desire to succeed in any area of your life, your thoughts must be on how to accomplish success. The teachings focus on positive thinking and living, where in particular, the mind should always be filled with the specific goals requiring success.
THOUGHTS MIXED WITH EMOTION
Bringing this thought into present day consciousness is expressed in similar ways but with a bit of a twist. The twist is that it’s not only about what you think but much of it is about what you feel and whether the feelings move you into the emotion of love or fear. Every belief system has been forged by an experience that is associated with some type of feeling. The deeper the feeling the more your mind is convinced that, what has happened and the belief formed around it is true. The feeling is either connected with love or fear. And, each time you experience something that triggers the emotion it strengthens the belief system.
Now, there are only two emotions, love and fear; everything else is feelings. The feelings are what move you into the emotion and emotion translated is “energy in motion”. In other words, without emotions you would not be able to manifest successful goals. This is why feelings are important because they lead to emotions of love, which brings about success, or fear, which attracts blocks toward success. Your feelings provide the power packed punch behind your emotions that bring any belief system to life. It’s the reason why what you can conceive (thought) and believe (belief systems) you can achieve (feelings that trigger the emotion to bring it about).
THE SECRET TO SUCCESS HAS TWO PARTS
The corner stone for where we are today is based on the 20th century mind expansive thought. It is one of the first principles of success. It is also the first step of the primary secret to success. The second step, are the feelings associated with each thought. When your thoughts uplift, motivate, inspire and are creative it sparks feelings of happiness, enthusiasm, excitement, and joy, all of which lead to the emotion of love. Love, being the single most powerful energy on the planet, attracts success quickly. However, be aware that because there is no judgment by the universe of what’s good or bad, desired or undesired, if your thoughts are self-degrading, victimization, doubtful about success and you believe if something can go wrong it will, your feelings will be depression, anger, grief and despair – all of which leads to the emotion of fear.
The more your thoughts are positive the more you attract the experiences of love, causing your belief systems to change in the direction of fluid success. This is why new age teachings consistently spout the doctrine of being positive / thinking positive as a way to create success. Nevertheless, don’t fall into the trap of just thinking positively as being the road to success, by itself. The positive thoughts must invoke great feelings to attract desired results.
Therefore, THE PRIMARY SECRET TO SUCCESS is simply honoring the partnership of elevated thought with enthusiastic feelings. And they lead to belief systems of success supported by the emotion of love which attract success.
