Human - Spiritual Experience 2“Your Human Experience is a Spiritual One!” What does this mean? It’s an age old question spiritualists have been attempting to answer. Of course, human beings are curious about one’s true nature. We work towards the deeper meaning of who we are, why we do what we do, and predict, to the best of our ability, what we will repeat or do again. I’m sure you’ve heard the expression, “We are spirit having a human experience”. If you haven’t heard it before now, consider yourself part of the league of spiritualists who have coined the expression to answer questions in an attempt to intellectualize existence. And, although when originally stated it was one of those “deep” thinking, what is the meaning of life, type of statements man’s consciousness has elevated to the understanding and truth of what it means. Perhaps because we are in the experience of it, right now.

The title of this piece suggests all situations encountered in the day-to-day and beyond, is a string of experiences that have spiritual connotations. Whereas, the statement “We are spirit having a human experience” suggests we are so much more than flesh and blood, that the human aspects are how we choose to experience and express the spirit within. The differences are subtle and it probably sounds like a bunch of esoteric rhetoric that has no definition in the context of understanding how to live life. But I assure you each statement provides clues on how human beings, in particular you, are able to have a much richer, greater, passionate experience in every single thing you are engaged in; from the mundane to the sublime.

WHAT IS SPIRIT AND SPIRITUALITY?
The term Spirit refers to the essence of a human being. It is pure energy that charges the physical body to life. It is what sparks the feelings connected to emotions that are experienced as neurological triggers in the brain. Spirit is the real life force energy piece finding its expression through the physical, emotional and mental bodies in this 3 dimensional world. Once the spirit leaves the host body, the body is left like an overcoat. But the only difference is that the physical body cannot be given away to “Good Will” like a coat. Spirit is pure light energy emitting continual impulses called love. Not only remembering but connecting with spirit, is the hallmark of living as a spiritual being. True avatars have been able to master Spiritual Beingness (to exist in the full presence of Being their Spirit-Self) by demonstrating wondrous acts, wisdom, love and even transformation from death to life. Such avatars as Jesus Christ, Buddha, Krishna, Mother Mary, Hannibal, and Mahatma Gandhi are just a few of the more well-known avatars in history.

In contrast, Spirituality is the consciousness of how to be and what to explore next for growth-filled learning. It is proceeding with purposeful awareness of every act, wisdom, feeling, and experience expressed. Spirituality is the way one chooses to live, all the time…minute-to-minute, day-by-day, month-by-month. Of course spirituality can only, genuinely, come from the essence of spirit source. So it is considered as a preferable way to experience life.

THE CAUSE OF YOUR HUMAN EXPERIENCE AS A SPIRITUAL ONE
Whether a person is aware or not, the simple act of breathing is spiritual. You do not have to be fully conscious of each choice made or step taken for your experiences to be spiritual ones. Every experience is pregnant with great miraculous promise leading you to the next elevated position of consciousness; this is what makes them spiritual. Many people go about their daily lives in a fog or what I call the ‘walking dead state’ of non-awareness. They believe life just happens and either it is sweet as candy, full of joy or it has the bitter taste of hell. And, of course, both are still spiritual experiences.Human - Spiritual Experience

So, what is the cause of your human experience being a spiritual one? The answer lies in perception. Truly, only perception allows you to be in a consciousness of spirituality at all times. When you make the decision to perceive everything in your life as spiritual, you experience it that way. In other words even the worst of challenges become spiritual conditions you experience, when seen from the perspective as working toward your highest good. In perceiving your life this way you are embracing a level of awareness that transcends the physical nature of survival and fear. From the perspective of choosing to be fully conscious knowing the glass is half full, not half empty, it allows your sights to be placed on the true light of spirit within.

“Keep your eyes on the prize” might be the motto for this way of experiencing the human condition. When external situations dictate you should not be a dreamer, perceive the goals you set as dreams of realization being materialized. When outside circumstances whisper, you’re a failure, perceive the brighter success you’ve become because you are that much closer to the full expression of your spirit-self. When the world seems to knock you down, hold you back and blocks the pathway, your perception allows you to see the rainbow of possibilities where new ways are created to get up, break loose and move forward. Indeed, perception in your right mindedness explores, then opens and connects to universal consciousness which is the spiritual realm in all it’s glory.

From the void where spirit created physical form, was your human figure crafted. Spirit entered in through the fluid stream of life force energy breathing the essence of self to bring purposeful life to the still figure. Simply, by that act alone, you are having the experiences of a human being; but only your perspective will allow you to be aware of what the spiritual journey of being human really is. No matter how you journey through your life, because you are human it is a spiritual one. And when choosing to be consciously aware from the perspective of spirit you will have the pleasure of enduring every experience as a spiritual experience. From my perspective, there is no other way to fully, passionately embrace living life!
